So the moment everyone’s been waiting for is finally here! Valve, at last, is going to launch the new Half Life’s game series, Half Life: Alyx in March 2020. After 12 years the audience finally gets to hear about some progression of the Half Life series.
Although Half Life 1 & 2 are already out and this new part is going to join the team soon but Half Life: Alyx is said to be a ‘prequel of sorts’ as it would portray the time between Half-Life 1 and Half-Life 2, Where Alyx Vance and her father Eli are building the resistance to the alien force known as the Combine, which is taking over the Earth. This would be one of the best VR Gaming Experience. A VR Return to Half Life.
“Look your eyes, honey” were the last words the audience got to hear from Half Life 2 along with a major cliff-hanger and countless goosebumps moments. It’s said that the events in this game would follow the events of time before Eli’s death but that seems a little absurd because the audience already knows the end, ELI DYING! So surely there must be something new and exciting to this prequel? Well, fingers crossed and we’ll find out soon enough.
Although David Speyrer, the designer of the game did say, that as the Half Life series is back on track, a sequel will be planned too but first they had to undergo new ways to portray the story and that world along with the new game play experiences that has been discovered by them, which goes beyond what they’ve been able to do before.
The salient question that pops in a person’s head is that, “will the new Half Life, going to bring VR back to its track?” Not that VR is going anywhere but the hype for VR gaming world is not high as it used to be when it came. Virtual Reality is an experience generator; whatever we can imagine, hear or see can be easily generated through Virtual Reality.
Well that’s not where it ends. The cherry on top would be Alyx’s motion-tracked hands that act in techniques that no other VR game has managed to get correct. The audience is totally awe-struck and mind blown because no other VR games, ever! Had that much mastery in its characters. Accordingly it’s said to be a big deal in the VR world and is considered as a huge step towards modernization.
The wait is, at last over and people already got a little taste of what’s going to be an out of the world experience for the various game lovers. Maybe all the questions about Half Life 3 could be answered through Half Life: Alyx but we’ll only get to know about all of that in March 2020. So be ready to tighten your seatbelts because Alyx Vance is once again making a booming entrance for the world to see.
