Oculus launched the link officially in beta the company’s compatibility software allowing quest users to play Rift Titles on PC. Facebook has given a major boost to Quest with the launch of  Oculus link beta software, which enhances its appeal by allowing VR users to use a single headset for both standalone apps and PC. 

Explore the richness of Rift Content Library when you connect to a PC while maintaining the untethered portability of the quest. Oculus Quest makes it easier to get into Virtual Reality than ever before.

On the other hand, if you have a supported GPU, compatible VR ready gaming PC, you can simply plug a headset into USB 3 Port. Thus, you can use the Oculus Desktop App as you own a rift, and it contains Oculus Home and Dash.

One more good news to Oculus Quest players is that the link is not going to be expensive and high-quality USB 3 Cables can transfer data and power between PC and Headset. Furthermore, Oculus is about to unveil its own 16-foot fiber optic cables in selected regions in the future.

Free Link Beta Software is present now. The quest requires a running version of 11.0 and higher firmware. In addition, Oculus PC needs to be 1.44 or more. If you have both of these and quest connected to PC via USB 3 you can gain access to Oculus link remote rendering feature by picking ” Enable Oculus link(beta).

You need to wait during this beta period as it is supported by a limited number of GPU s. In this beta version, it’s not going to support the beta version. However, it also says that it is working with AMD to support as many cards as possible. By the time the link is out of beta, it is planning to extend its support to a few more GPUs.
