The rise in artificial technology has shown gradual growth over the years and now this concept of technology is ready to use in smartphones and the Internet of things (IoT).

Apple' files patent for mixed reality headset

“Display System Having Sensors”, an app, firstly spotted and revealed that Apple’s mixed reality headset is capable of giving 3D virtual perspectives. In March 2019 this amazing application was documented for the first time. According to the report, Apple uses a varied range of sensors in the headset to make it ready for engaging features.

As per the report, the headset may come with dual displays i.e. one on left side and the other on right side, light sensors to gather visible information, such as colour, intensity of light and the direction of light rays, eye-tracking and eyebrow sensors to track facial expressions, world mapping sensors, lower jaw sensors, head pose sensors to identify head’s orientation, hand sensors, left and right cameras, gestures, and an inertial measurement unit to gather information from sensors.

Why Apple filed its innovation as a patent for Mixed Reality Headset

The patent app undertakes the feature that the eye-following camera may also be utilized for biometric confirmation moreover Apple may extend this feature of cameras for signal tracking as well. You may start thinking about, why Apple filed their innovation as a patent in the live event; you are forgetting that in testing the headset you cannot film a buyer’s face since they are wearing those headsets so users are suggested to go for mixed reality headset for experiencing the real world.

Real working on this concept was started back in April last year, as reported by Apple. Then Apple reported that their headset is coming with 8K displays for both eyes. The project is estimated to get completed and is expected to release in 2020. It will be a great moment to see when this project gets officially released as a mixed reality in headsets is an innovation that will provide an immersive user experience.

Apple has shown its stand in favour of augmented reality and mixed reality because according to Apple CEO, Tim Cook the parent technology i.e. virtual reality is not our future but the rise of augmented and mixed reality will transform our future technology.
