Snapchat spectacles 3 has Dual front-facing cameras that add depth and dimension to your Snap’s.

Following the companies recent announcement regarding a $1 billion investment in AR content, media partnerships, and acquisitions, Snap Inc. today revealed the latest installment to their lineup of Snapchat-compatible sunglasses, Spectacles 3.

Available this fall for $380, Spectacles 3 include dual front-facing HD cameras which allow you to capture and share 3D images and video with realistic depth and dimension. By simply tapping the button on the device, Spectacles 3 will immediately begin recording 3D video (up to 60-seconds per recording) as well as high-fidelity audio via a 4-microphone array. For 3D photos, you simply need to hold down the button and Spectacles 3D will capture an HD still image from your POV.

Images and video you’ve captured are automatically pushed to your Memories on the Snapchat app, where you can then experiment with a variety of 3D effects, such as lighting, landscapes, as well as several new filters and aesthetics. Of course, you’re always free to export your 3D snaps to your camera roll as circular, horizontal, square, and VR formats and share them on various other platforms.

Spectacles 3 will launch in two color options:

  • Carbon:“a classic, monochromatic black with a semi-matte finish and high-gloss details.”
  • Mineral:“a tone inspired by cosmetic hues with a hint-of-gold frame.”

Included with the glasses is a dedicated wireless charging case capable of holding up to four charges and folding flat when not in use, a standard USB-C charging cable, as well as a head-mounted display for viewing 3D content. No specific details on this 3D viewer just yet, but we imagine something simple and cost-effect, similar to that of a Google Cardboard.

Based on the video above, it appears as though these 3D images and videos can be viewed directly on smartphones using what appears to be some form of wiggle stereoscopy, aka a “Wigglegram.”

As previously stated, Snap Inc.’s Spectacles 3 will be available in Fall 2019 for $380. Pre-orders are open now at Spectacles.com.
