New phrases such as “social distancing” top Google list of search terms in 2020. With much of the US and large parts of Europe under some type of restraining order due to the Covid-19 epidemic, it is the turn of VR games to entertain you.

At least they are a welcome change from endless episodes of Game of Thrones and Stranger Things on Netflix.

To help you, we have curated a list of VR games to play at home. We share our detailed review below.

Best VR Games 2020

No Man’s Sky VR

No Man's Sky VR Game

It has been designed for PlayStation VR though you can also use the gameplay with Rift S or Valve Index. It is not a game but more of experience about exploring space. You come face to face with unique life forms and strange worlds.

The depiction is hyper-realistic, and your odyssey can make you into a lovable rogue like Hans Solo or maybe an intergalactic unobtainium trader!

The movements in zero gravity are extraordinarily realistic and sometimes painful and dizzying.

If you are reasonably young and looking forward to a trip to the moon with Virgin Galactic in 2040, this is the place to start preparing.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR

Elder Scrolls V Skyrim VR Game

You can fight with dragons and be a part of magical worlds when you play The Elder Scrolls V. the game can be played on almost any platform, but obviously, the more expensive headsets like Steam work better.

It is not without flaws, and the character design doesn’t look terribly convincing with a lack of shadows and texture. Still, it is quite a thrill to battle giant spider-like creatures in a world far away using a laser saber.

The game allows you to teleport if you find walking in a VR environment dizzying. But teleporting causes a lack of continuity and you suddenly find yourself at a different location.

The combat controls are excellent and make this a game worth investing in. One would have liked VR Games for free, but at $18, it is quite cheap and very entertaining.

Doom VFR

If you want to Download Best VR Games, you can’t avoid Doom VFR. It probably has to do with its long legacy like World of Warcraft, but there is something definitely cute about Doom that has made it one of the most famous games for over 20 years.

The plus point is that there are very recognizable guns and ammo, but the downside is that it is a ret-con plot, and you are a scientist who was killed in the two-dimensional version.

The clear advantage is that though the environment is familiar the game is brand new and thus very well built for a VR user.

You can slow down time and actually be able to dodge bullets! Movements include walking and teleportation as also short hops of about fifty feet.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew

Star Trek: Bridge Crew

Boldly go where no man has gone before, albeit wearing your Oculus Rift S.

Be the commander of Starship Enterprise and fly to the farthest corners of the galaxy, fight the Klingons, and rescue diplomats.

All in a day’s work if you are a Trekkie. Is Star Trek almost 55 years old. Not for most of us. The familiar theme music and the uniforms make it a definite must-have VR experience.

It is game maker Ubisoft’s foray into VR, and as usual, they have done a splendid job. Raise the shields and flight with alien destroyers to your heart’s content, fly off at warp speed, and enjoy your time in the HoloDeck.

Archangel: Hellfire

Archangel: Hellfire

If you are new to VR, then this definitely is your launchpad, both literally and metaphorically. It is a Mech Shooter game (think Edge of Tomorrow exo-suits style warfare), and there is no shortage of action and heart-pounding scenarios.

It can be played both single-player and multiplayer mode, and you could buddy up and dive into a mission from a huge troop transporter craft.

Closing Thoughts

Indeed, many VR Games are not yet absolutely polished, and there are glitches when continuity changes.

Most of it is due to designing for PSVR, Oculus, Valve Index, and Vive – four very different hardware platforms.

In desktop gaming, the only difference was Nvidia and Radeon. Adjusting to so many platforms calls for compromise.

But the 2020 titles are head and shoulders above what we had seen back in 2017. Better compatibility of hardware to game engines has made this a very desirable experience.
