Unless you have been living under a rock for the past 10 years or been the Rick Grimes of your own story! , there is no way you have not heard of The Walking Dead Saints and Sinners VR Game.

What’s better than doing a weekend marathon of the horror survival series? Of course, experiencing the thrill of bringing down the ‘walking dead’ and leading your clan to safety.

Horror, gore and survival-themed movies and TV series have become world-over favourites because they imbibe a vicarious thrill and suspense that no other genre can. So, how can we not feel excited when Skydance Interactive and Skybound Entertainment have brought us a novel way of experiencing the same edge-of-the-seat excitement?

What should you know about the new The Walking Dead Saints and Sinners VR Game?

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners is a new generation VR game that puts the player amidst throngs of lurkers with “self-designed” weapons and the urge to survive the apocalypse.

In the new VR game, you are the survivor of a zombie apocalypse and what ensues is a tooth-and-nail fight for your soul. Another survivor explains the gravity of the situation, the dangers that lurk in the dark and plain daylight, and the ways to survive.

In the post-apocalyptic world, you try to survive, but everyone and everything else wants you to join them. you have nothing but a base of operations and an idea about where to head.

You set your own pace – you gather materials, save or hurt others, converse with a mysterious voice on the radio, and sit down to drink from a discarded bottle and call it a day.

Then there are days when you begin the journey by beheading a zombie and pulling a bloody knife out of its head to attack another. You rummage through your resources to find an arrow or an axe that you can use in long-distance combat.

This game is NOT for the faint of heart. At any minute you can find a biter breathing down your neck or waiting to pounce on you from a dark corner.

The all-new VR game is full of jump-scares and unexpected turn of events. While playing, there is no way to tell if you are sitting inside the safety of your 1000-square foot apartment in a city lit by daylight, or truly scrounging through the remains of a post-apocalyptic world for a morsel of safety.

What do we love about The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners?

What we love about The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners is that it features the original storyline. So, if you find the TV series enthralling, you will absolutely love playing this new VR game on your Rift S, Oculus Rift, Quest or HTC Vive. The game comes from a joint venture of Skydance Interactive and Skybound Entertainment. Skybound Entertainment is run by Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead.

So, you can expect to experience the post-apocalyptic survival game in all the original gore, chance encounters from the freedom of choice, and visceral fights. Just like any other survival VR game, you will have to face a moral dilemma – like when you have to kill a fellow survivor to get enough food and water for your survival.

What do players have to do in The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners?

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners brings with it a deep-rooted sense of terror and the urge of survival all wrapped in a thick sheet of adrenaline. There is not one dull moment as you wait it out in the flooded ruins of what is now New Orleans to face to lurkers either alone or with one mortally wounded survivor.

The players will have to explore the entire Walking Dead universe all the while fighting the walkers, and sometimes, fellow humans. The aim of the game is not just to live till the last second, but also to uncover a mystery that will determine the future and safety of each person alive.

You will find yourself scaling buildings, attacking walkers with long-range weapons, and fighting them with nothing but a short dagger. There are tons of things you will try and do, which you have never thought of trying in the real life.

According to Adam Grantham, “The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners gives the players a completely immersive experience”. There is no way to refute that statement once you have played this game for even 20 minutes. The new venture offers players a glimpse at the future of gaming, which is otherwise impossible to experience in either mobile or on any console.

When can you expect to play The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners?

You don’t have to wait for long since the game is about to arrive on PlayStation VR this spring. Soon, it will also release on Oculus Quest. You can buy the standard edition for $40 and the Tourist Edition for another $10. You can own the Tower Edition for $150.
