Caring by Showing the Way

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital brought together Facebook, VR for Good, and St. Jude put together a VR Experience celebrating true stories of children who survived cancer or other fatal diseases.St. Jude Hall of Heroes was created to raise funds by giving donors an opportunity to see how their funds are used to help patients. VR is used in the project as an engulfing visual representation of their story. Made by BBDO, and developed by Flight School.

Users walk to these statues to listen to each of their tales of bravery against a life-ending illness. Arriving on the Oculus platform in early 2020 it will be featured in the Oculus Store.

The Gain with no Pain

Small study proves mothers to be who have had an increased pain threshold while using VR in preparation for the delivery. Women tried VR headsets with the ‘Labor Bliss’ simulation 30 minutes during contractions to cause an average reduction in pain of 0.52, Women who didn’t wear the HMD felt a pain increase of 0.58. Showing the tranquillity created in the space along with the benefits to our mind. Making it possible for further studies and for using the technology as an alternative to other pain relievers during childbirth.

Virtual Emergency Room Training

Doctors are now able to check vitals, symptoms and operate basic procedures in the Virtual Reality space to train a better sharpen their nerves and skills in high-pressure environments. There is no factor of life or death of clumsy dummies of the stench of cadavers simply the precision of the task at hand along with a precise purpose.

Using real-life dummies or cadavers is not enough this way of training doesn’t copy the pressures that come with a real emergency.
